If there was one piece of art you could feature in, which would it be and why?
I would be featured with the Mona Lisa – a mysterious contemporary woman alongside the most mysterious woman in history.
Who inspires you and why? An artist, a family member, someone current or historical?
A wonderful museum or exhibition where just a short wander takes you through masters past and present - that's more than enough to be inspired by.
What are your cultural aspirations? What do you still want to see, do and achieve?
To go back to Iran and visit South Africa, Australia, and South America.
What are your favourite cultural cities in the world and why?
I had the great fortune of living my entire adult life in New York City, exploring the vibrancy of the Lower East Side, meeting Basquiat in 1985, meeting Warhol, and seeing the galleries move from Soho to Chelsea. I had an apartment in Paris in the 90’s and fell very much in love with that city too. I have also lived in London twice in my life - in 1988 and now. It's truly the most international city in the world - so close to the rest of Europe and so full of vibrancy. Then of course there is the magic of India. Talwar, my surname, is Indian, and I have had the great fortune of being asked to be an ambassador to the India Art Fair in 2015 and I've been spending my winter weeks in India over the past fifteen years - in Goa, Pondicherry, Dehli, Rajasthan.... As soon as your plane touches down you smell the spices, you see the colours...magical India will always be a part of my life.
What are you up to at the moment and where can we find it?
