Q&A

If there was one piece of art you could feature in, which would it be and why?

Anish Kapoor’s exhibit at the Royal Academy of Arts in 2009 changed my understanding of contemporary art – I'd be thrilled if there were some way to feature in one of his works.

What are your favourite emerging cultural cities and / or organisations in the world and why?

Mexico City has been misrepresented in global media as a precarious, dangerous place for many years. I’m thrilled to see the tide turning – CDMX is increasingly recognized as the leading Latin American cultural pioneer.

MUSEO UNIVERSITARIO ARTE CONTEMPORÁNEO (MUAC), which is a part of the UNIVERSIDAD NACIONAL AUTÓNOMA DE MÉXICO (UNAM) in Mexico. The museum is well run and regularly showcases cerebral, engaging exhibits. The UNAM campus that surrounds it was built by highly influential mid-Twentieth Century Mexican architects and is very impactful.

Who do you think are the cultural innovators of tomorrow and why?

I believe that sustainability and integrity are foundational to the success of today’s nascent as well as storied cultural innovators. In my opinion, the institution that sets the standard for tomorrow in ethical retail is Patagonia.

What are you up to at the moment and where can we find it? (Please include a link(s) if possible).

I’m currently designing our Summer 2018 Collection, which we’ll be showing by appointment during NYFW:Men’s in July. We’re carried by MatchesFashion in London and Silver Deer in Mexico City with a growing retail presence in New York.
