Mr. Feng Yuan is the Vice President of China’s Central Research Institute of Culture and History and is a globally renowned painter and art educator. Born in Shanghai in 1952, he graduated from the China Academy of Art in 1980 and has held a number of high profile positions in his illustrious career. In 2001, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Department of Arts of the Ministry of Culture. In 2004, he became Director of the National Art Museum of China. In 2005, he became a member of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, secretary of the Secretariat. Deputy Chairman of the China Artists Association and Honorary Dean of the Academy of Art and Design, Tsinghua University. His work is widely collected by museums, including the National Art Museum of China, China Art Institute and American East Asian Art Museum.
