If there was one piece of art you could feature in, which would it be and why?
It would have to be the uplifting works of Roy Lichtenstein. You cannot help but feel euphoric when you see his works like Whaam! from 1963. His trademark style of a bold palette and striking images are instantly joyful and charming.
Who inspires you and why? An artist, a family member, someone current or historical?
As Henry Thoreau once said, “Me thinks that the moment my legs begin to move, my thoughts begin to flow. If I am ever looking for inspiration or a creative spark then I’ll go for a walk. With your heart pumping faster and more oxygen to the brain, as well as a change of scenery, you are almost immediately transformed with new thoughts and ideas.
What are your cultural aspirations? What do you still want to see, do and achieve?
I cannot wait to travel to India and see the Mughal city of Jaipur, the cultural hub of India. It is renowned for its art, architecture, culture and, of course, its cuisine.
What are your favourite cultural cities in the world and why?
Venice and Paris have always been two cities where the rich culture, both in their architecture and their cuisine, have inspired me. Further away from home, Bangkok is alive with an incredibly rich culture steeped in religion and, with a doubt, its delicious food.
What are you up to at the moment and where can we find it?
I’m working for Europe’s leading broadcast specialist agency, providing consultancy on media and content campaigns to secure top-tier coverage across the world. When I’m not in the office, you’ll catch me working on @twiplomat, reporting on UK-Russian relations. I’m just building the website, where you will be able to find much more information on this crucial cultural, economic and political international relationship. Head to www.twiplomat.com to find out more.
