If there was one piece of art you could feature in, which would it be and why?
I would like to be in one of Yoshitaka Amano's prints, just getting lost with all the swirls and colours.
Who inspires you and why? An artist, a family member, someone current or historical?
I tend to be inspired by thinkings and attitudes of the different people I meet and work with. Friends in the art and design scene in Singapore, and in all the different creative cities in the world.
Currently on my bookshelf though is long time favourite Chagall and fascinating new discovery Hilma af Klint.
What are your cultural aspirations? What do you still want to see, do and achieve?
I am attracted to meeting people, learning about their cultures and ideas, perhaps it is a way of trying to understand our existence together on earth. There are so many more places I want to visit; some will be incidental surprises, some will draw me and some I will seek.
What are your favourite cultural cities in the world and why?
Mexico City, London, Yangoon, Sarande (Albania) and Belgrade.
What are you up to at the moment and where can we find it?
I’m travelling with a touring immersive mutli-disciplinary showcase Singapore: Inside Out. It is a celebration of Singapore’s contemporary creative talents across disciplines that has been to Beijing, London and will be in New York next. You can find images of it on instagram with #sginsideout.
I am also currently working on animations for a fashion film that has yet to be released and will make its debut at Taiwan Design Week. Also brewing in the works is a residency with a solar energy institution, a wall mural and experiments with conductive ink.
