If there was one piece of art you could feature in, which would it be and why?
Caravaggio’s painting 'The Flagellation of Christ'. Upon seeing it in Naples, I was struck by its vibrancy and the shining brilliance that hasn't faded over the past 400 years.
Who inspires you and why? An artist, a family member, someone current or historical?
Caravaggio for his magical light, sculptor Louise Bourgeois for her way of thinking and intellect, artist Zhang Huan for his political statements and performances in China in the 90s, painter Paul Thek for the richness and depth of his work, and the philosopher Plato for his original thoughts. My favourite artist at the moment, though, has to be Luigi Presicce, because his performances and artworks are so inspiring and so full of love.
What are your cultural aspirations? What do you still want to see, do and achieve?
Having the chance to visit the moon would be a dream come true - I think the sense emptiness and solitude would be an inspiring and profound experience that you'd be unable to replicate here on the earth.
What are your favourite cultural cities in the world and why?
Mexico City for its selection and audacity in international art, and Florence for its history, beauty, and elegantly stunning architecture.
What are you up to at the moment and where can we find it?
Aside from running my agency and working with my photographers on worldwide campaigns for the likes of Hermès, Martin Margiela Parfum, BMW, the Thai Government, Mykita, maestro Daniel Barenboim etc, I am also organizing exhibitions for my photographers, including Mark Borthwick. I also maintain a blog, where I share our latest campaigns and editorials, as well as works of art, and images from my own thoughts and sentiments. I'm currently working with Aino Laberenz on an installation of Christoph Schlingensief's OPERNDORF AFRIKA project, which I'm very excited about.
